“We should buy a bar!”

I love craft beer, and my husband has been a homebrewer for over 15 years. So, in 2016 we opened a brewpub! Striving to “Bring Balance to the Brew” in a landscape of overly hoppy or malty brews, we built a neighborhood place where people could gather for good food, good beer, and good times. Inspired by the geology of Wisconsin and simple, traditional beer styles, I approached the visual language using utilitarian design elements, vintage aesthetic, and DIY projects to create a comfortable, easy drinking atmosphere, with a contemporary viewpoint.

"Unlabels"

"Unlabels"

Since all of our beers were distributed in-house or in kegs, we didn’t physically label them, but I did create a unique “unlabel” for each beer for use on social.

I painted a large mural as a centerpiece in the bar that became quite the selfie spot, as well as an abstract gravitational anomaly map of Wisconsin in the dining room, and built a lighted channel beer sign for ambiance.
